The answer has one item per plate sent, in the order sent: found with the vehicle, or not found with error.code VehicleNotFound, or not valid with error.code InvalidPlate. An invalid plate is reported on its item and does not fail the call. The quota is checked for one request per distinct valid plate (a plate sent twice, or in another spelling of the same plate, counts once; invalid plates don't count; a call with no valid plate counts as one). The quota is checked for all of them before any lookup: if the account can't cover them all, the whole call is a 429 QuotaExceeded, with no results and nothing counted. The call then costs the plates found: plates not found are given back, and an answer that is not 2xx costs nothing. For the per-minute rate limit the call is one request. A body that is not {\"plates\": [...]} with 1 to 500 strings is a 400 ValidationFailed. A body over 64 KB is a 413 PayloadTooLarge: before it is read when it declares its length, after the key and quota checks when it is chunked.",

The extract holds only each week's state, so history starts at observedSince, the earliest extract Motorbay holds for the vehicle: an earlier plate or inspection is not missing from the register, Motorbay just has no extract from then. Registration numbers are reused, and personal plates move between vehicles, so a plate in plates may be on another vehicle now. A vehicle with no history yet gets empty lists and observedSince null. blocks and leasingPeriods hold each set of blocks or leasing periods the vehicle had, the whole set each time it changed, an empty set when none was left. They start at blocksObservedSince and leasingPeriodsObservedSince, the same day for every vehicle, with each vehicle's set that day: until then both are null and the lists say nothing. "description": "Counts the vehicles in the served extract that match the filters, the same filters as GET /v1/vehicles except registrationNumber and the first registration dates. Without groupBy the answer is the total. With groupBy (one or two of make, kind, usage, color, modelYear, registrationStatus, fuelType, bodyType, firstRegisteredYear, firstRegisteredMonth, comma separated) it also returns the groups, largest count first, at most limit of them (default 50, max 1000). Each group has only the fields it is grouped by, its count, and share: its percent of total, with two decimals. With two fields a group also has shareOfParent, its percent of the vehicles with the same first field, so groupBy=make, fuelType gives each make's fuel mix. Makes, kinds, usages, colors and fuel types come with their names, as on a vehicle. fuelType is the primary fuel, the one fuelTypeId filters on. bodyType is the vehicle's, with unknown a group of its own (62 % of the register on 16 Oct 2026). firstRegisteredYear and firstRegisteredMonth (YYYY-MM) are the year and month of a vehicle's firstRegisteredOn. A grouped field is null for vehicles without the value. total counts every matching vehicle and groupCount every group, also those past the limit. With average (one or more of odometerReading, maximumPower, ownWeight, totalWeight, comma separated) the answer and each group also have averages: per metric asked for, value (the mean, one decimal, null without values), unit and basedOn, how many vehicles had a plausible value. odometerReading is the latest inspection's, in thousands of km, and a reading of 0 is left out. maximumPower is in kW, the weights in kg. The extract holds values no vehicle has, such as an own weight of 555,555,555,555,555,555 kg, so a value outside its kind's plausible range is left out of the average, not clipped: passenger cars (kind 1) and vans (3): odometerReading 1 to 2,000, maximumPower 1 to 1,000, ownWeight 200 to 4,000, totalWeight 300 to 5,000; motorcycles (7): odometerReading 1 to 500, maximumPower 1 to 400, ownWeight 30 to 1,000, totalWeight 50 to 1,500; mopeds (16, 17): odometerReading 1 to 200, maximumPower 0.1 to 8, ownWeight 10 to 400, totalWeight 30 to 1,000; every other kind: odometerReading 1 to 5,000, maximumPower 0.1 to 2,000, ownWeight 10 to 150,000, totalWeight 10 to 300,000. The counts describe one weekly extract: the Motorbay-Data-As-Of header says which. They are exact for it, and equal the totalCount GET /v1/vehicles reports for the same filters. One call is one request. Example: registered passenger cars by make is ?kindId=1&registrationStatus=registered&groupBy=make, and the average power of new cars by month is ?kindId=1&groupBy=firstRegisteredMonth&average=maximumPower.",
